“Shame” is a concept album about trauma-related shame: the movement from believing that something terrible happened to believing that the self is damaged, guilty, or unworthy. Across the album, memory returns through avoidance, self-blame, grief, and the pressure to hide what cannot be undone. Each track traces a stage in separating identity from injury and recognising loss without allowing it to define the person. Rather than presenting recovery as purification or closure, “Shame” treats it as integration: learning to hold the past in memory, lessen its control over the present, and rebuild a self no longer organised around condemnation.
