“Deafening Silence” examines abandonment by a caregiver as both a loss and a developmental wound. Sparse melodies and empty spaces represent the child’s unanswered need for comfort, protection, and recognition, while recurring echoes suggest how neglect can become internalised as unworthiness. The track focuses on absence rather than overt violence: the harm created when the person responsible for safety remains emotionally or physically unavailable. Its unresolved movement carries grief not only for the caregiver who left, but for the secure bond, explanation, and childhood that never arrived. Rather than offering closure, the piece gives form to the silence imposed upon the abandoned child.
