From the recording Shame
“Where the Wild Dreams Roam” draws on Jung’s view of dreams as autonomous expressions of the unconscious, not narratives directed by the conscious ego. Unstable textures and emerging motifs represent symbolic images that compensate for attitudes, fears, and desires excluded from waking awareness. The track enters this psychic wilderness without treating every image as a literal memory or fixed message. Its darkness belongs to what consciousness cannot yet recognise, while its strange beauty reflects the dream’s capacity to bring opposing elements together and begin a process of psychological integration.
