From the recording Shame
“Emotional Tides” examines destructive attachment shaped by trauma, dependency, and intermittent closeness. Rising and receding layers mirror the cycle of harm, reconciliation, hope, and renewed pain that can make an unhealthy bond difficult to leave. The track focuses not on weakness, but on the way fear, longing, memory, and nervous-system familiarity can bind a person to what repeatedly wounds them. Its movement follows the slow recognition that separation requires more than distance: it means unlearning the emotional pattern that made suffering feel inseparable from connection.
