"Father" opens the cycle by translating the first person of the Christian Trinity into sound. Low drones and distant choirs evoke the Father as the unbegotten source: creator of the world, begetter of the Son, and origin of Trinitarian life. Slow harmonic movement emphasises hiddenness, permanence, and authority rather than dramatic action.
