“Brood of Vipers” draws on Jesus’ denunciations of the scribes and Pharisees in the Gospel of Matthew. Harsh, coiling textures evoke his accusation that corrupt speech reveals a corrupt heart, while urgent rhythms carry the force of prophetic judgment. The track confronts religious hypocrisy: outward holiness used to conceal self-interest, injustice, and resistance to truth. Its anger is not uncontrolled rage, but a demand for repentance before concealed corruption produces its final consequences.
