"The Triumph of the Light" follows the movement from darkness and expectation toward the revelation of Christ’s identity and mission. Its opening passages evoke the baptism in the Jordan, where Jesus is declared the beloved Son and the Spirit descends upon him.
Warmer melodies accompany his ministry of healing, teaching, compassion, and the restoration of those excluded or afflicted. The sequence gradually rises toward the Transfiguration, where divine glory briefly becomes visible before the suffering still to come.
The final movement centres on the Resurrection and Ascension. Expanding harmonies represent the empty tomb, Christ’s victory over death, and the commissioning of his followers to continue his work. The mix presents light not as the absence of darkness, but as divine life revealed through mercy, sacrifice, renewal, and enduring hope.
